Marbella and Málaga Fairs plus international Golf Tournament
In July, when Northern and inland cities are celebrating Moors and Christians parades or the famous San Fermín in Pamplona town, Marbella is embracing the festivity in honour of the Virgen del Carmen, the saint patroness of all fishermen. Having their roots deeply connected with the Mediterranean Sea and its abundance, local people celebrate it with special affection. In addition to the processions and the masses with flower offerings, the Town Hall of Marbella presents live music concerts, dancing performances, election of a Queen and Ladies and prizes for fishermen, among other activities. The climax of the festival is on the 16th of July, with the final processions from dawn to sunset, and from the main church to the beach, when the statue is carried into the sea, accompanied by numerous boats, to bless the waters, before returning back to its place until next summer.
In August, is the time for the Málaga Fair, only 50 Km from Marbella. Nowadays, Málaga city looks better than ever, while its leisure and cultural offers are growing every minute.
And when September starts, be ready for the most prestigious competition for women's teams on the international golf calendar. The Solheim Cup 2023 will take place at the Finca Cortesín Golf Course, only a 20-minute drive from Marbella, starting on the 18th of September.
